U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a “Model specification for LED roadway luminaires, V2.0″, this specification is usually used by the members of Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium (MSSLC) on the development of LED street light projects.
The new led street lighting Manufacturer model specification is available for download on the DOE website. V2.0 is the subsequent versions that released at the end of 2011. Now, the U.S. Department of Energy helps municipalities and other agencies to purchase lighting fixtures through the development of guidance documents.
In fact, it only requires municipalities to fill in a specific template according to the specification, and generates a comprehensive procurement documents quickly. The work is supported by members of the MSSLC, but the U.S. Department of Energy can publish the standards freely.
